The Ferrari Enzo (officially named Ferrari Enzo Ferrari, in honor of the house founder) or Ferrari F60, is the evolution of the Ferrari F50, with which it shared, among other things, the predicted number of manufactured units (349), although the Ferrari Enzo ended up raising the figure to 400 units. The last unit manufactured was auctioned as a fundraiser for the victims of the 2004 tsunami, and reached the price of 950,000€.

It was constructed between the years of 2002 and 2004, and like many of its “brothers,” it brought together at that time an impressive beauty and sports car qualities. It had a V12 motor with 5,998cc that had a maximum of 660 HP, and allowed the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (0 to 62mph) in 3.65 seconds, reaching a maximum velocity of 350 km/h (almost 220 mph).

To the incredible list of qualities this vehicle has, we must add its light weight of 1,355kg (almost 3,000lb), which is achieved by using carbonate fiber and aluminum in many of its parts. The ratio of 2.05kg(4.5lb)/HP also makes this vehicle an example of a distinguished sports car in this respect.

It was designed by Ken Okuyama (in Pininfarina) and Michael Schumacher, who worked for Ferrari at the time and had a large part in the Enzo’s development and tuning. The front design is reminiscient of the F1, with a similar “nose,” and other shared elements such as the gearbox that allows gear changes at 0.150 seconds.

In 2004 the northamerican publication of “Sports Car International” placed the Enzo third on their list of “Best Sports Automobiles of the Decade” (2000-2010), and it was also named the fourth best Ferrari of all time by the northamerican magazine “Motor Trend Classic.”
