This year at the fair Rietze showcased at their booth a real Fiat 500 Topolio whose model (in 1/87) was announced for 2012, although we suspect it hasn’t even been manufactured.

Rietze is one of few European model companies that still makes their minitures in their country of origin, bucking the trend of manufacturers worldwide that have moved factories to China. It is also, in our opinion, the champion of 1/87 in the category of buses of which they have an infinite number of modern vehicles of different makes and models such as: Mercedes-Benz (Cito, Citaro K E4, Citaro Mod.2011, Citaro G, O 303, Travego M, etc ) IrisBus (Ares, Iliade) MAN (Lion’s Regio, Lion’s Coach L, NL, Lion’s City Hybrid, Lion’s City DD, Lion’s City G, etc), Neoplan (Skyliner SHDL, Cityliner C, Tourliner, Euroliner, Trendliner, etc), Setra (S 317 HDH, S 328 DT, etc), Solaris (Urbino 12, Urbino 18), Volvo B12-600, etc.

Their catalogue also has a few models (mostly by Mercedes-Benz Citaro and Travego M) in 1/43, which is a rarity and thus always a joy for enthusiasts of this scale. At the fair we also saw the Iveco Magirus Super Dragon X8 in 1:87, as well as a multitude of vans and “tankettes” (armored vehicles usually used by police).
The last of the new additions we’d like to highlight is the new Volkswagen Golf VII (1/87) in various colors (silver, red, blue, and black).
