Alfa Romeo 8C Spider 2008 ( M4 1/43)

The Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione was presented in the automobile room of Frankfurt in 2003, but it had to wait until 2007 and the vehicle they put on sale had basically the same characteristics.  The 8C Spider (the focus of this article) was presented a year later, in the automobile room of Geneva in 2008.  It really is a Maserati in its mechanical components, starting with the motor, which is a 4.691cc V8 (origin of the name “8C,” used in the 30’s by Alfa Romeo to name the 8 cylinder motors) with 450 HP, that can reach up to 290 km/h (180 mph) in the Spider version.  Putting mechanics aside, the design of the bodywork is by Alfa Romeo, in his Centro Stile, that from 2007 is located in the Mirafiori factory, where they also design other Fiat brands like Maserati or Lancia.

The M4 miniature presented calls attention to us at first because of its excellent finish, starting with the metallic dark red paint of great refinement, the visible pleats on the disc brakes seen through the tires, the emblem on the steering wheel and some details that go unnoticed if they are not called attention to, like the sliver pedals and the gearshift behind the steering wheel (which operates in 2 out of the 5 modes of the vehicle: Manual- Normal and Manual-Sport).

Looking at it from the front, we can appreciate the discreet inferior aileron, which is “guilty” of the actual vehicle having a negative aerodynamic lift coefficient (CZ).  We can also see the 3 air intakes, the central with the emblem, above a triangular mark painted silver like the original model.
