The Sun Star group – Vitesse (to which Quartzo also belongs) unveiled a few of the new additions promised for this year’s catalogue at the fair. Here is a brief overview:

In scale 1/12 we saw a very well done AA Austin Mini Van. Also coming out this year, even though it was debuted in 2012, is the Mini Morris Cooper S whose realism stood out to us last year. From the popular VW T1 a new version in two colors: red and beige, and the even more popular VW Beetle appears in a new cabriolet version painted in two shades of green.

In scale 1/18 we saw the Oldsmobile 88, winner of the 1959 Daytona 500. We saw the 1957 Cadillac Brougham and a 1960 Convertible Plymouth Fury which, although they are not new, are always a pleasure to see. Among the newly announced models we found a number of new versions in new colors such as the 1965 Pontiac GTO, Ford F-100 Pickup, 1960 Ford Thundebird Convertible, 1971 Ford Mustang Mach I, and others.

In scale 1/24 Sun Star announced a new version of the Route Master, the RT1 (EYK 196)

A few years ago Vitesse (in scale 1/43) surprised us with an amazing Merces-Benz 220 SE (W111, nicknamed the Fintail) in gray. This year they released new versions of this model, highlighting those which are modeled after the taxis of Berlin, Lisbon, Rome and Amsterdam. At the fair we also saw the new Chevrolet Bel Air Hard Top in two colors: light pink (called coral) with dark gray and turquoise and white (called India ivory). They also debuted a new version of the 2000 Lincoln Town Car Limousine in white with a black roof (which had previously come in only all white or all black.) Also announced are several new versions of the 1968 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible, 1953 Cadillac Convertible (closed), the Fiat 124 Spider, etc. (in various colors)
